Expert Visual Tank Inspections to Ensure Your Safety

Internal & External Inspections
Peace of Mind

We recommend visual testing alongside our Hydrostatic Testing service, where the tank is pressurized to check for leaks and overall durability. However, visual testing is essential on its own as it can identify issues that might not yet affect the tank’s performance under pressure but could lead to failure if left unchecked. Regular internal and external visual inspections are crucial for ensuring the safety and longevity of tanks used in high-pressure applications like diving and paintball.

No Matter Your Tank, Visual Testing Matters!

During an internal and external visual inspection of a tank, the inspector is looking for several key things related to quality and contamination. By checking these aspects, the inspector ensures that the tank is safe to use and free from any internal or external damage, corrosion, or contamination that could affect the tank’s safety and performance.

External Inspection:

Corrosion: The inspector checks for rust or other signs of corrosion on the outside of the tank. Corrosion can weaken the tank's structure and make it look older than it is.
Dents or Dings: Any dents, dings, or physical damage are noted, as they can affect the tank’s ability to withstand pressure.
Scratches or Cuts: Deep scratches or cuts could compromise the tank’s integrity.
Paint Condition: Peeling or chipped paint can indicate underlying corrosion or damage.
Thread Condition: The inspector examines the threads where the valve connects to ensure they are not damaged, as poor threads can lead to leaks.

Internal Inspection:

Rust or Corrosion: Inside the tank, the inspector looks for rust or corrosion, which can weaken the tank over time.
Moisture: Any signs of moisture inside the tank are concerning because moisture can cause rust and lead to contamination.
Debris or Contaminants: The inspector checks for any dirt, dust, oil, or other contaminants that might have gotten inside the tank. These can affect the quality of the gas stored and potentially harm equipment or users.
Pitting: Pitting is small, deep spots of corrosion that can be hard to see but are serious because they can weaken the tank’s structure.
Cracks or Fissures: Any cracks inside the tank, even small ones, are dangerous and can lead to tank failure.
